New Brunswick (English: New Brunswick, French: Nouveau-Brunswick), referred to as New Province, is a provincial administrative region in Atlantic Canada. It is the province with the second largest French-speaking population in Canada after Quebec. The capital of New Brunswick is Fredericton and the largest city is Saint John.
The name "New Brunswick" comes from the German Braunschweig (German: Braunschweig). The province is one of the four provinces in the early days of the Canadian Confederation. It borders the Gulf of St. Lawrence to the east, Quebec to the north, Maine to the west, and the Nova Scotia Peninsula to the south. Prince's Island is connected by the Confederation Bridge.
